Black Pearls was a booklet series from Pabel-Verlag , Rastatt .

It was subtitled "The New Post -Roman - For Women" and appeared from 1973. By 1975, 80 issues had been published. Another issue was announced, but was no longer published. The price of a single issue was 0.60 DM (issues 1–50) or 0.70 DM (issues 51–55).
A second edition was published in 1977 under the name The Black Pearls - a novel about the fate of a woman , with two booklets being combined in one volume.
Bastei-Verlag , Cologne published a third edition from September 2014 to March 2016 with the title The Black Pearls - The Secret of Olivia Douglas fortnightly. For the forty volumes z. T. new episode names chosen; OS Winterfield is named as the author.

The series is about the young Stella Douglas who inherits the family castle in the Scottish highlands after the death of her father. There she learns of the mysterious escape of her mother Olivia, who was believed to be dead, sixteen years ago. In the hope that she might still be alive, Stella goes in search of her. The individual black pearls of a magical pearl necklace that once belonged to Lady Olivia mark important stops on her journey. Stella will take you to exotic countries and involve you in equally eerie and amorous adventures.
