Wilhelmer runs the pig museum in the slaughterhouse and the associated catering business together with her son Michael Wilhelmer (* 1970), managing director of Wilhelmer Gastronomie GmbH in Stuttgart and since 2009 Schwabenbräu landlord on the Cannstatter Wasen .

Domestic pigs have accompanied people for more than 9000 years and have played a decisive role in shaping their culture. It was interpreted in many different ways and seen as contradicting, on the one hand as a symbol of happiness and prosperity , on the other hand as a symbol of the physically excessive, as the epitome of stupidity, filth and greed. The pig is present in many German idioms and a multitude of shapes and materials: as a lucky charm or piggy bank, as a toy, knick-knack or everyday item. The various aspects are highlighted in almost 30 showrooms.
