4-Teens (formerly Swiss Youth ; written in capital letters) is a Swiss magazine for young people between the ages of 11 and 18.
history
The predecessor magazine of 4-Teens was founded in 1927 as a Swiss student, illustrated weekly magazine for young people and adults . This makes 4-Teens older than comparable youth magazines such as the German Bravo .
Later the name changed from Schweizer Schüler to Schweizer Jugend . The magazine Schweizer Jugend was temporarily discontinued for six months in July 2002 in the 77th year. In 2003 the magazine changed its name to 4-Teens (as for-teens, German for “for young people”).
concept
4-Teens appears 11 times a year (monthly with a July / August double edition) with a circulation of 15,000 copies (approx. 30,000 readers) by subscription. The headquarters of the publishing house under the direction of Herbert Lingg is located in Rotkreuz ZG . The editor-in-chief is Mario Niederer.
The normal editions of 4-Teens are 64 pages and consist of a knowledge and an entertainment area. The double issue in July / August, however, has 96 pages, but the content is the same. Reports, international reports, history, job presentations and youth advice from Pro Juventute find their place in the knowledge section , while the entertainment section focuses on trends, music news, cinema reports, computer games / internet and interviews with stars. There are two posters in the middle of the magazine.
In 4-Teens, young people are involved and actively contribute to the magazine. The booklet is written in Swiss spelling .
