The Swiss Society for Organization and Management (SGO) is an association based in Zurich , Switzerland . Your office is located in Glattbrugg in the municipality of Opfikon .

Idea and purpose

The SGO offers training and further education, maintains the exchange of experiences among members and interested parties, is involved in research and development and acts as a bridge between science and practice. For this purpose, the SGO awards research projects to universities and technical colleges. The SGO publishes research results in books or electronic media and organizes appropriate events. The SGO also supports international certifications in project management , business analysis and process management as well as the federal organizer exams.

History and structure

The SGO was founded in 1967 as an association based in Zurich on the initiative of organizational heads from various Swiss companies and administrations as well as scientific institutes. Its members include both companies and individuals. Together with the “ASIO” (Associazione Svizzera Italiana d'Organizzazione e Management) and the “ASO” (Association Suisse d'Organisation et de Management), the SGO has around 2,300 members. The board of directors consists of 20 representatives from companies from various industries, public administrations and universities. To provide its services, the SGO makes use of management, suitable training and further education institutes, cooperation with the SGO Foundation and international partnerships.

Initial and continuing education

The SGO Business School offers training and further education in the areas of organization, project management, leadership, change management , business analysis, process management, product management and mediation. In addition, the SGO organizes various advanced training events every year.

Research and Development

Since 1998 the SGO Foundation has supported and accompanied over 30 research projects. The results have been published in the book series uniscope at Gabler Verlag in 30 individual works. In accordance with the purpose of the foundation, young talents are promoted in each research project and introduced to the various specialist communities.

Networking

In special interest groups (e.g. business transformation interest group), best practices are continuously presented, experiences are exchanged and corresponding reports are published in the magazine Leadership and Organization (zfo) and in the organizational portal . SGO 62 is a group of executives and generalists with many years of national and international experience who, as young retirees, set themselves the goal of developing specialist topics, coaching members and implementing projects with small and medium-sized companies. They bring experience from the areas of administration, finance, nonprofit organizations, tourism, industry, construction and the like. a. with a.

International certifications / Eidg. Organizer exams

The SGO offers international certifications in project management (IPMA), process management (CBPP) and business analysis via the certification body “Association for the Certification of Persons in Management” (VZPM). In addition, the SGO supports the relevant professional and higher technical examinations through the Association of Federal Organizational Examinations (eop).
