Swiss textile school
The Swiss Textile College (STF) is a training center for the textile and clothing industry as well as trade .
history
The Wattwil weaving school and the Zurich silk weaving school were both founded in 1881 (independently of each other). In 1972 the two schools merged to form the Swiss Textile School STF.

- 2002 to 2015: Helmut Hälker

activity
In addition to basic training, the school also offers its students specialization, such as a Master of Science (MSc) in Product Management Fashion & Textile. With its degree programs, courses and workshops, the school covers the entire area of the textile and fashion industries , both in production and in marketing and trade .
Organization and locations
The school is organized as a cooperative and is supported by the cantons and municipalities, members of the cooperative and companies, as well as associations. The current director of the STF is Ms. Sonja Amport. The head office is in Wattwil , and the school also has locations in Zurich and St. Gallen .
Departments, research and development
A distinction is made between the following specialist areas at STF: Textiles , Fashion and Business Management . An important part of the school is also research and development . These projects are funded by the Commission for Technology and Innovation (KTI) of the Swiss Confederation .
Infrastructure
In Wattwil the STF has a versatile machinery which important machines of the spinning , weaving , knitting / knitting , garment making and twisting includes. The embroidery and knitting machines, a body scanner and a textile finishing and testing laboratory are located in Zurich.
