Swiss Professional Conductors Association

The Swiss Professional Conductors Association (SBDV; French : Association Suisse des Directeurs professionnels de Musique (ASDM) , Italian : Associazione svizzera dei direttori d'orchestra professionisti (ASDP) , advises .: Associaziun Svizra dals Dirigents Professiunals (ASDP) , English : Swiss Professional Conductors Association (SPCA) ) is the professional association of Swiss conductors of both choirs and orchestras who can demonstrate professional training.

The association was founded in 1932 as the Ostschweizerischer Berufsdirigenten-Verband (OBV) under Otto Uhlmann and expanded into a nationwide professional association as early as 1937. He is a permanent member of the IG CHorama and traditionally maintains close cooperation with the Association of Choral Conducting Northwestern Switzerland (founded in 1935 as the Northwestern Swiss Choral Conducting Association ).
