The Lazdynai Swimming Pool (lit. Lazdynų baseinas ) is a swimming pool in the Lithuanian capital Vilnius , in the Lazdynai district , the only 50-meter swimming pool in Vilnius.

history

In 1980 the water sports palace ( Vandens sporto rūmai ) was built. The architect was Edmundas Stasiulis. In 2013, the Vilnius Municipality Council decided to reconstruct the swimming pool. In June 2017 the Modern Pentathlon 2017 World Cup Final of the world championships in modern pentathlon took place here. In July 2017 the swimming pool was closed. The renovation with a value of EUR 21.8 million is expected to take place by 2019 .
