The Scoglio Ferale (also Ferrale ) is a small rocky island that rises from the Ligurian Sea around 170 meters from the Riviera di Levante . It is located west of the Campiglia Tramonti frazione of the provincial capital La Spezia . At the top of the pyramid-shaped rock is a large marble cross, which was erected on the site of an older iron cross, which is also said to give the island its name (ital. Ferro 'iron'). The island is the only remaining one of a series of rocks that were removed to fill the route of the Pisa – La Spezia – Genoa railway through the Cinque Terre .

The area around the island is considered a suitable diving area for beginners.
