Scott-Swisspower Mountain Bike Team
The Scott Swisspower Mountain Bike Racing Team is a Swiss mountain bike team.
history
The team was founded in 2002 under the name Swisspower Mountain Bike Team to promote young mountain bike talents in Switzerland. In 2009 it was renamed the Scott-Swisspower MTB Racing-Team . The name sponsor has since been the sporting goods manufacturer Scott Sports . At the end of the season, the cycling clothing manufacturer Odlo became the second name sponsor and the team was renamed Scott-Odlo .
The aim of the project is for young Swiss mountain bike talents to develop in a professional environment under the care of the experienced team manager Thomas Frischknecht and the long-time national coach Andie Seeli as team director. The focus is on conveying and passing on experience and know-how .
The team has been registered with the UCI World Cycling Federation as the UCI MTB Team since 2006 and as the UCI MTB Elite Team since 2010.
successes
Florian Vogel (European champion and vice world champion 2008) and Nino Schurter (Olympic champion 2016, Olympic medalist 2008 and 2012, U23 world champion 2008, elite world champion 10 and overall world cup winner 2010) developed in this environment from juniors to the top of the world. In the 2012 season, Nino Schurter won the XC World Championship for the Scott-Swisspower MTB Racing Team, won the XC Overall World Cup and won the silver medal at the Olympic Games in London.
