Scott Ainslie

Scott Ainslie (born December 27, 1968 in Edinburgh ) is a British actor and politician ( Green Party of England and Wales ). From the 2019 European elections to January 31, 2020, he was a member of the European Parliament as part of the Greens / EFA group .

Life

Scott Ainslie studied economics at Edinburgh Napier University , where he graduated from the Mountview Academy of Theater Arts in London with an acting degree . In the second half of the 1990s, he settled permanently in Streatham . As a theater actor, he has appeared regularly on various stages since 1995. He also starred in television and film productions, including The Zombie Diaries (2006) and Little Deaths (2011).

Ainslie was a member of the Labor Party and later joined the Green Party of England and Wales . In 2014 he was elected to the London Borough of Lambeth Borough Council and successfully ran for re-election.

In 2019, his party nominated him for the 2019 European elections to the party's first list position in the British European constituency of London. His party won a seat in the constituency that Ainslie accepted with 12.5 percent of the vote. He joined the Greens / EFA group , for which he was a member of the Committee on Transport and Tourism . He was also an alternate member of the Committee on Constitutional Affairs .
