Committee on Transport and Tourism
The Committee on Transport and Tourism (TRAN) is one of the twenty standing committees of the European Parliament . The committee chairman has been Karima Delli ( EELV / G-EFA ) since January 2017 and was re-elected in July 2019.
The committee deals with the policy of the European Union in the fields of rail and road transport , inland and maritime transport and aviation . This includes in particular the Europe-wide traffic regulations , the expansion of the trans-European traffic networks , traffic safety and relations with international traffic organizations. The committee is also responsible for the Europe-wide regulations for postal services and tourism in the EU.
In the European Commission , the member responsible for this policy area is the Transport Commissioner ; at the Council of the European Union it is the formation as the Council for Transport, Telecommunications and Energy .
