Scott Galloway (economist)

Scott Galloway (born November 3, 1964 ) is a professor of marketing at the Stern School of Business at New York University and a public speaker, author and entrepreneur.

Life

Galloway attended UCLA , where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in economics in 1987, and the UC Berkeley Haas School of Business, from which he graduated with an MBA in 1992.

In 1992 he founded Prophet, a branding and marketing consulting firm employing over 400 professionals in the United States, Europe and Asia; In 1997, Galloway founded Red Envelope, one of the earliest e-commerce sites. In 2005, Galloway founded digital intelligence firm L2 Inc., which Gartner acquired for $ 155 million in March 2017, and the now-defunct Firebrand Partners (founded in 2005), an activist hedge fund that sells over $ 1 billion in US consumer and media company has invested.

He was elected to the "Global Leaders of Tomorrow" of the World Economic Forum , which recognizes 100 people under 40 whose accomplishments have made a global impact.

He has served on the boards of Eddie Bauer, the New York Times Company, Gateway Computer, Urban Outfitters, and Berkeley's Haas School of Business. Galloway is also known for his TED-style public presentations and lectures called Winners & Losers, in which he showcased the results of L2's Digital IQ Index, covering over 2,500 global brands across numerous dimensions such as e-commerce, social media and digital Marketing rated.

Galloway teaches brand management and digital marketing to sophomore MBA students.
