Scott Island is an uninhabited island in the northern part of the King Sound , an Australian coastal body of water in the Indian Ocean . It belongs to the Kimberley region in the Australian state of Western Australia .
The island is one kilometer long and 150 meters wide. It is about seven kilometers from mainland Australia.
The island is the westernmost island in a five-kilometer chain of islands. The name of the eastern neighbor island is Kessel Island .
