Scriptorium (magazine)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Scriptorium is the leading international magazine for codicology . It was founded in 1946 by Camille Gaspar , Frédéric Lyna and François Masai . Originally managed by the Bibliothèque royale de Belgique in Brussels , the editorial support of the magazine is now entrusted to the Institut de recherche et d'histoire des textes (IRHT) in Paris . The codicological bulletin will continue to be maintained in Brussels at the Center International de Codicologie (CIC) ASBL , located in the library.

The Bulletin Codicologique , an ongoing bibliography related to the journal, on all aspects of manuscript studies and the whereabouts of medieval manuscripts that were offered at auctions is of particular importance, provided the editors were able to determine this and the acquirers consent to being named. It was launched by Martin Wittek in 1959. Today the indexes of the journal and the bulletin can be consulted online in a database. The bibliographical entries from 2000 to 2009 are also accessible in full text.
