Se bummtschacks
Se Bummtschacks are a regional band from Mainz that combine comedy and singing. They kicked u. a. at events such as the Meenzer Drecksäck (alternative Fassenacht ) and the famous Rock am Ring and Rock im Park festivals . After conflicts with the local carnival greats or associations (MCV), Se Bummtschacks developed their own carnival event Se Bummtschacks fersuchen Fassenacht, which was held in the largest Mainz cinema (residence) in 2005 and was celebrated as anarchic (Allgemeine Zeitung Mainz). In the fall of 2006 came to her 2 1/2-hour Satirical: on Hartz and kidneys , also in residence cinema on stage. Music videos, multimedia presentations, films, as well as cabaret and comedy contributions and live music were integrated into the framework for the Bummtschagentur für Arbeit . In addition, Se Bummtschacks composed and recorded several hymns for the soccer club 1. FSV Mainz 05 . In March 2009 Jürgen Girtler announced his resignation. Founding member Jens Illmann rejoined the band in June 2010. In December 2013 bassist Christoph Steigner left after 17 years and was replaced by Sebastian Ritter. In October 2014, the founding members Frank Wallmüller and Jens Illmann left the band. From November 2014 to June 2016 Jan-Eric Mengeling was guitarist with the Bummtschacks, he was then replaced by Holger Münker.
The band has been supported by Andres Geisler (keyboard) since February 2018. At the same time the band announced that they are working on a new studio album with the new line-up, which was released on August 2nd, 2018 under the title "Pretty Talented". Lt. own statements, this album is a return to the roots of the band and reunites more the elements of comedy & rock.
