Sea Technology is an English language, monthly, trade journal for marine science, engineering and much more.

The magazine is published, according to Compass Publications Inc., for managers in senior positions of maritime associates, scientists , engineers and technical personnel in industry, government and education. It is read in more than 100 different countries.

It covers areas such as oceanography , underwater defense, anti-submarine warfare, maritime science, underwater exploration , diving, marine construction, drilling, and mining.

Sea Technology is the only monthly trade magazine that reports on this multibillion dollar topic in such a broad range. The publisher claims that the magazine has the largest readership in the world compared to other magazines in the field.

history

Founded in 1960, the magazine has been able to establish itself in the field for over 46 years. In 2004 Sea Technology was certified by the BPA ( Business Publication Audits ).

Sea Technology has donated several industry awards and still supports them financially today:

  • the prestigious Compass Distinguished Achievement Award , introduced in 1966 - an award for individuals who have made outstanding achievements in the field of maritime science and technology.
  • the Compass Industrial Award , introduced in 1966 - an annual award for US companies that have made a significant and important contribution in the field of oceanography or maritime technology. The Compass International Award , introduced in 1980 , represents the same award for international companies that have their headquarters outside of the USA.
  • the Safety in Seas Award , introduced in 1978 - an annual NOIA award which recognizes outstanding achievements that have contributed to the safety of offshore life.
