Sea Trucks Group is a global company that provides assistant services to the oil and gas industry. The core area of ​​work is the coast off Nigeria . The company is based in Lagos , Nigeria. There is also an office in Rotterdam , the Netherlands .

history

In 1977 the Foundation of Sea Trucks Nigeria Ltd. was established. This initially chartered small ships to offer the oil and gas industry in the Niger Delta transport options. In the 1980s the company established service capabilities in Warri , Nigeria. The ships are repaired and maintained there. In addition, business with inland shipping was started from there. The company grew rapidly in the 1990s and expanded its facility to include a dry dock, a supply base and a fleet of anchor-handling tugs. In 2000 the company opened a branch in Shanghai in order to monitor its construction contracts on site. From 2000 to 2006 the Jascon tug and production facilities in Onne , Nigeria, and Sharjah , UAE , were expanded. From 2007 to 2010 five multipurpose ships of the type DP-3 were put into service.

The ships are operated by West African Ventures , a subsidiary of the Sea Trucks Group. A major customer is the Chevron Corporation in Nigeria.

The tug Jascon 4 , which was put into service in 2004 , sank in May 2013 when a tanker attempted to tow.
