Sea Wolf is an American indie folk band from Los Angeles , California .
history
Lead singer Alex Brown Church attended NYU film school and was a founding member of the band Irving in 1998. Many of the songs he wrote did not fit the band's musical style and so Church began with Sea Wolf in Los Angeles with changing musicians and demo recordings in Seattle with producer Phil Ek (Band of Horses, The Shins, Fleet Foxes). Sea Wolf signed with Dangerbird Records in 2007 and released the first EP Get To The River Before It Runs Too Low and an album entitled Leaves In The River .
On September 22, 2009 Sea Wolf released the second studio album under the title White Water, White Bloom . The album was produced by Mike Mogis (Bright Eyes, Monsters of Folk, M. Ward) in Omaha.
In addition to singer Alex Brown Church, Sea Wolf's current members are Lisa Fendelander (keyboard), Theodore Liscinski (bass), Joey Ficken (drums), Nathan Anderson (guitar) and Joyce Lee (cello).
