Sebastian Brunnert

Sebastian Brunnert is a former German national basketball player . With Saturn Cologne he was twice German champion.

career

Brunnert comes from the youth work of BG 74 Göttingen . He made the leap into the Bundesliga team of SSC Göttingen. In 1978 he moved to Saturn Cologne within the Bundesliga . In 1981 and 1982 he became German champions with the Rhinelander, and he also played in the European Cup with Cologne. In 1985 Brunnert moved to the new Bundesliga club Oldenburger TB . During his playing career, he achieved a total of 2,354 points in the Bundesliga.

In 1975 Brunnert took part with the German national cadet team in the European championship round of this age group, a year later he was part of the German squad at the European Junior Championships. In 1980 Brunnert played the elimination tournament for the Olympic Games with the senior national team, and in 1981 he took part in the European Championship with the team. Between 1976 and 1985 he played in 65 international A matches for Germany.

Among other things, as a trainer at the Oldenburg TB, a player in the OTB senior team and as a member of the management team of the Oldenburg Girls' Basketball Association, Brunnert remained loyal to basketball after his competitive sports career.
