Sebastian Henn

Sebastian Henn (* 1977 in Koblenz ) is a German economic geographer .

Life

From 1997 to 1999 he studied geography, economics and public law at the University of Heidelberg ( intermediate diploma in economics and geography); 1999–2001 studied geography, public law, economics and business administration at the University of Mannheim (degree: Diplomgeographer). After graduating in 2006 as Dr. rer. nat. at the University of Halle-Wittenberg (dissertation topic: Cluster in nanotechnology. Development, properties, recommendations for action) in 2006 and 2008 he was a lecturer at the Institute for Geography at TU Dresden , Chair of General Economic and Social Geography. From 2001 to 2011 he was a research assistant in the Economic Geography Section, Institute for Geosciences and Geography (until 2006 Institute for Geography), University of Halle-Wittenberg. From 2008 to 2009 he had research stays in Antwerp , New York and Surat / Mumbai . From 2010 to 2011 he taught as a W2 substitute professor for cultural geography at the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg , also as a lecturer in Halle an der Saale . From 2011 to 2012 he was a Postdoc Fellow at the Department of Political Science, University of Toronto (Faculty Supervisor: Harald Bathelt ). After his habilitation in 2014 (Dr. rer. Nat. Habil.) At the Martin Luther University in Halle an der Saale (topic: transnational entrepreneurs and knowledge-based regional development. An investigation using the example of the diamond sector ), Venia Legendi in economic / social geography In 2014 he was appointed to the W3 professorship for economic geography at the Institute for Geography at the Friedrich Schiller University Jena . From 2012 to 2014 he was a research associate (from 2013 deputy head of department) in the Regional Geography Department of Europe, Leibniz Institute for Area Studies. In 2014 he represented the W3 professorship for economic geography at the Institute for Geography Jena . Since 2014 he has held the Chair of Economic Geography at the Institute for Geography at Friedrich Schiller University Jena.
