Sebastian Paul Brock

Sebastian Paul Brock (born February 24, 1938 in London ) is an English syrologist.

Life

He attended Eton College, received a BA from the University of Cambridge and a DPhil from Oxford. He has received a number of honorary doctorates and has been awarded the Medal of Saint Ephrem the Syrian by the Syrian Orthodox Patriarch, as well as the Leverhulme Medal and the British Academy Medal.

He is married to Helen Hughes-Brock , an archaeologist who specializes in Minoan Crete and Mycenaean Greece. He is a fellow of the British Academy. He received the Leverhulme Medal and the British Academy Prize in 2009.
