Sebastian Weyer

Sebastian Weyer (born December 4, 1997 ) is a German speed cuber who specializes in the 4 × 4 × 4 cube . Weyer has broken the 4 × 4 × 4 individual world record a total of seven times and the 4 × 4 × 4 average record a total of nine times.

Career as a speedcuber

Weyer started playing in 2009 when he received a Rubik's Cube as a Christmas present. He set his first world record on May 1, 2011.

Weyer currently holds the individual world record for the 4 × 4 × 4 cube with 17.42 seconds. He last held the record for the average of five attempts on May 12, 2018.

Weyer holds the European average record for 4 × 4 × 4 with 21.46 seconds.

Weyer took part in three world championships: 2013, 2017 and 2019. At the 2013 world championships in Las Vegas , he came second in 4 × 4 × 4 and third in 3 × 3 × 3 . At the 2017 World Championships in Paris , he won in the 4 × 4 × 4 discipline. At the 2019 World Cup in Melbourne , he finished second in 4 × 4 × 4 and third in 3 × 3 × 3.

Private life

Sebastian Weyer finished school at the age of 16 and then began a dual degree in electrical engineering in Kassel. He comes from Willich and now lives in Berlin. His twin brother Philipp Weyer is also a Speedcuber, holds the European average record for 3 × 3 × 3 and became world champion in 3x3x3 in Melbourne in 2019.
