Seborrhoea oleosa ("oily sebum") is a form of seborrhea and describes a pathologically increased sebum production of the skin .

In the skin there is an increased production of the sweat and sebum glands , which usually results in an alkaline pH value . The moisture content of the skin is usually normal. The proportion of free fatty acids in the sebum composition is increased. Numerous skin impurities appear ( papules , pustules , milia , comedones ). Overall, the outward appearance results in a greasy-shiny texture of the skin and greasy-stringy hair.
