The seborrhea sicca ( "dry seborrhea ") is the so-called fat-dry state of human skin .

It is characterized by the fact that the skin cells dry out prematurely, which leads to faster keratinization (cornification) of the epidermal cells and thus only incomplete formation of keratin. Reasons can be the excessive production of the skin's own hydrolipid film and a dry environment that allows the water to evaporate prematurely. However, seborrhoea sicca can also develop from seborrhoea oleosa if the wrong products with drying ingredients are used for skin care. It manifests itself in a tough, dry, scaly horny layer. Comedonescan complement the complexion. The skin is shiny, but taut and shows reduced flexibility and plasticity, so that cracks may form and skin diseases such as acne or neurodermatitis may be favored.
