Secret Escapes is a UK tour operator offering discounted luxury hotel stays and luxury travel over the internet . Secret Escapes operates in Germany , many EU countries , Switzerland , the United Kingdom and the United States .

history

Secret Escapes was called DMC Cruise Limited until Tom Valentine and Alex Saint renamed it Secret Escapes on November 16, 2010 when they saw demand for luxury travel offers in the UK. In 2014 the company acquired the German booking application Justbook .

In July 2015, the company received 60 million dollars from Octopus Investments and Google Ventures , and acquired My City Venue in the UK; this added a further 1200 venues and 1.4 million members. According to IBT, the company has over 19 million members and has sold 2 million room nights.

In October 2015, Secret Escapes continued its expansion in Germany with the acquisition of Travista .

In 2017, Secret Escapes acquired the Slevomat Group , Central and Eastern Europe's leading travel company. TravelBird was acquired in 2018 .
