Secura is a smooth-skinned table potato variety.

It ripens at the beginning of the medium-early ripening group and thus reaches very high yields early. Secura is predominantly waxy, with little cooking darkening. It is easy to wash, which is why it is used almost exclusively in the premium sector in packing operations. Its flower is light red-purple. Secura tubers are oval and quite even in size.

The variety is comparatively less susceptible to late blight and tuber blight , its starch content is around 14%. In relation to gold nematodes , it is only resistant to the Ro1 type. It is resistant to potato cancer of Pathotype 1 and rarely gets scabs , rhizoctonia , iron or black spots. She has weaknesses in black-leggedness . In 2006, Secura was one of the 30 most popular seed potato varieties in Bavaria .

The variety was approved in 1985.
