Aggadat Bereshit

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Aggadat Bereschit (אַגָּדַת בְּרֵאשִׁית, also called Seder Elijahu Rabba ) is a smaller homily midrash , a collection of 28 homilies on Genesis based on the three-year reading cycle . Each homily has three sections, making 84 parts. The first section relates to Gen , the second to a text from the prophets, which is to be regarded as Haftara for this Seder , and the third is to a psalm passage.

The content is largely taken from Tanchuma Buber .
