See You Later, Alligator is a rhythm and blues song written by Bobby Charles in 1950 . In the rock 'n' roll version of Bill Haley & His Comets from 1956, the song sold millions of copies and reached number 6 on the US charts. In Europe, the song reached number 6 in the UK, number 7 in the Netherlands and number 4 in Belgium. The song was Bill Haley's last big hit.

The song was used in the movie Out of Band , which is about Bill Haley & His Comets and the rise of rock and roll. The song made the title a popular catchphrase .

The song has been covered several times , for example by Dr. Feel good .
