Graal-Müritz pier
The Graal-Müritz pier is a wooden pier that protrudes from the beach of the Graal-Müritz Baltic Sea spa into the Baltic Sea .
The pier is 350 meters long and 3 meters wide. At the bridgehead it is 12.5 meters wide. The foundation piles are made of 2.5 cm thick ST 52 steel with a length between 11 and 17 meters and a diameter of 76.2 cm. The wooden superstructure is made of larch wood , the mooring albums are made of oak .
After heavy seas and ice formation, the pier was destroyed in 1941. In October 1992 a new construction of the pier was started; the inauguration took place in March 1993.
The pier is the landmark of Graal-Müritz. Numerous festivals take place in their environment, such as B. an annual Easter fire and a kite festival. Every Friday the pier is the starting point for a torch-lit hike.
The pier has several berths, e.g. B. can be used by the excursion boat MS Baltica and the lifeguard station.
