Background and funding

In the North and Baltic Seas , several offshore wind farms will have to be dismantled over the next 10 to 15 years. The interdisciplinary Seeoff project is a joint project consisting of research institutions and industrial partners, which is supported by a competent advisory board. The project is funded with € 1.1 million over a period of three years from the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy as part of the 6th energy research program.

Aim of the research project

Open questions about dismantling, logistics, recycling and dismantling costs are to be examined. It is also important to develop efficient dismantling strategies in order to minimize negative effects on the environment. In the case of the dismantling strategies, all legal requirements must be met, the protection of the environment must be guaranteed and a high level of occupational safety must be ensured during active implementation. The results are to be documented in a manual and made available to the offshore industry

Participant in the research project

The project coordination was taken over by the University of Bremen , the faculties of architecture, building and environment as well as economics are involved. Participants in the research project are companies from the offshore technology and waste disposal industry. Participating in the research project are:
