Seestrasse (Constance)
The lake road (Constance) is a road outside the town of Konstanz in the district of Petershausen East on the banks of Constance Bay of Lake Constance .
structure
The Seestrasse extends from the cross street Conrad-Gröber-Strasse below the Rheinbrücke Konstanz in the west to the cross street Hebelstrasse in the east. It runs as a driveway with a lake-side pedestrian promenade, which is lined with plane trees. The area for the road was gained by filling in from 1868. Houses 15, 21, 25, 27, 29 and 33 existed before 1888. Further development began in 1896. Temporarily, from 1939 to 1945, it was named Adolf Hitler-Ufer. At the beginning of the street there are houses with Art Nouveau facades. In front of Seestrasse 29, Villa Stux, there are three stumbling blocks for the former owner Robert Stux, his wife and her sister. He was forced to sell the villa. The Villa Prym at Seestraße 33 is built in a mix of neo-renaissance and art nouveau styles .
Institutions open to the public
There are hotels in Seestrasse and the Konstanz casino in the middle, Seestrasse 21 . At the end of Seestrasse is the Constance Yacht Club with its own port.
