The Konstanzer funnel is the bay of Lake Constance east of Konstanz and north of Kreuzlingen . The outflow of the Obersee leading into the Seerhein begins in the Konstanz funnel .
The boundary of the Konstanz funnel to the east is roughly the line between the Hörnle (southeastern tip of the Bodanrück ) in the north and Bottighofen on the southern, Swiss bank. The Konstanzer funnel is the only area of the Obersee in which there is a sovereign border between the neighboring states - in this case Germany and Switzerland - and even there only in the western part near Konstanz.
The Dominican Island belonging to the city of Constance is located in the Constance funnel.
Works of art
At the port entrance at the end of the Konstanz funnel stands the Imperia by the sculptor Peter Lenk .
On the Konstanz fish market (approx. 100 m from the harbor) there is a sculpture several meters high that literally takes the Konstanz funnel: a tin funnel in a concrete frame.
