The area Bodanrück and west. Lake Constance is a with Regulation from 1 January 2005 by the Government of Freiburg after Directive 92/43 / EEC (Fauna and Habitats Directive) registered reserve (reserve identifier DE-8220-341) in the south of German state of Baden-Württemberg . With the ordinance of the regional council of Freiburg on the definition of areas of community importance of October 25, 2018, the protected area was established.
location
The approximately 14,340 hectares (ha) large reserve "Bodanrück and west. Bodensee" is one of the natural area for Hegau . It lies at an altitude of 395 to 693 m above sea level. NHN and extends over the Bodanrück and bank areas of the north-western parts of Lake Constance , the Überlinger See and the Untersee , in the five municipalities

description
The protected area "Bodanrück and west of Lake Constance" is described as a "ground moraine landscape with typical glacial shape treasure, moist depressions and moors, poor grasslands, large-scale wetland and silting complexes on the shore, shallow water, deep zones and two caves".
Protection purpose
The main protection purpose is the preservation of a large landscape complex, with a landscape richly structured through human use, riparian zones with some prehistoric importance ( pile construction finds), moors, a ground moraine landscape with drumlins , moraine ridges , dead ice holes , shallow water and deep zones on the Untersee and Überlinger See , numerous important nature reserves and natural monuments.
Habitats
The variety of dry and humid habitat types in the protected area is represented by, among other things, "ravine and mixed slope forests", "limestone cliffs with crevice vegetation", "flowing waters with flooding water vegetation", "tufa springs", "alluvial forests with alder, ash, willow", "natural, nutrient-rich lakes ”as well as“ lean, lowland hay meadows ”.
