This mountain and other elevations and their foothills are among other things - sorted by height in meters (m) above sea level (NHN):

  • nameless summit ( 693.4  m ), southwest of Bodman , approx. 600 m southeast of the Bodenwald farm
  • Mühlberg ( 672.7  m ), west-southwest of Bodman, approx. 900 m southeast of the Rehmhof farm

Landscape image

In the area of the northeastern roof of the Bodanrück, where it drops steeply to the Überlinger See, several gorges are spectacularly scenic: the Marienschlucht to the east-northeast of Langenrain at the ruins of Kargegg ( 491.9  m ) , which is about 100 m deep dug into the molasse rock , the Katharinenschlucht , a little southeast of it, and the Echotal in the Stöckenloch, southeast of Bodman . If you call into a semicircular rock niche, the echo comes back from a molasse wall about 60 m away. Orchards and pastures as well as forest and various moor and reed areas shape the landscape. Near Radolfzell, the largest lake on the peninsula, is the Mindelsee . The Bodanrück was called a headland by Alfred Benzing .

Protected areas

There are three landscape protection areas (LSG) on Bodanrück, which is wooded in many places : The LSG Bodanrück is located on large parts of the peninsula ( CDDA no. 319996; designated 1966; 55.12  km² in size). It is the second largest of 16 LSG in the Constance district. Since its expulsion in July 1966, it has been expanded several times. In the north it borders on the largest part of the three-part LSG Bodenseeufer (CDDA no. 320003; 1951; 8.15 km²), the area of which extends to the shores of the Überlinger See. On the flanks of the Bodanrück, which extend as far as the Überlinger See, Obersee and Untersee, there are several spatially separated parts of the LSG Bodenseeufer (CDDA No. 31921; 1952; 10.13 km²), which also includes three parts near Konstanz, for example on Mainau Island . The towns of Allensbach , Bodman , Dingelsdorf , Konstanz , Litzelstetten , Markelfingen , Radolfzell , Stahringen , Wallhausen and Wollmatingen are on the edges of the three LSG . The localities of Dettingen , Freudental , Güttingen , Hegne , Kaltbrunn , Langenrain , Liggeringen , Möggingen and Oberdorf are partially or completely enclosed by the LSG .

On large parts of the Bodanrück, including western parts of Lake Constance around the peninsula, lies the fauna-flora-habitat area of Bodanrück and western Lake Constance (FFH no. 8220-341; 142.3729 km²).

There are also two bird sanctuaries (VSG) on the ridge : The multi-part VSG Bodanrück (VSG no. 8220-402; 63.1093 km²) is located on large parts of the peninsula , along its north and northeast flanks the multi-part VSG Überlinger See des Lake Constance (VSG no. 8220-404; 25.5578 km²), and in the area of Geiermoos and Wollmatinger Ried are parts of the VSG Untersee of Lake Constance (VSG no. 8220-401; 59.1533 km²). In the southeast, in the area of the Obersee, the peninsula is joined by the VSG Konstanzer Bucht des Bodensee (VSG no. 8321-401; 3.1112 km²).

In addition, there are nature reserves on the Bodanrück, some of which extend to the parts of Lake Constance around the peninsula , some of which are adjacent to one another (sorted alphabetically):

Attractions

The sights of Bodanrück include the gorges on the northeast side and those in the localities:

The federal road 34 branches off from here and runs in the transition area to Hegau from Radolfzell in a south-west-north-east direction to Bodman-Ludwigshafen. From these roads, several state and district roads branch off into the landscape .
