Mooswiese (nature reserve)

The Mooswiese nature reserve, established in 1938, is one of the oldest nature reserves in the district of Konstanz and in Baden-Württemberg . The 20.5 hectare area west of the Litzelstetten district of Constance has been designated as a nature reserve since November 7, 1938.

The area is a low moor surrounded by forest in the Drumlin landscape on the Bodanrück at around 460 m above sea level. NN . It contains various pools of water created by peat cutting with extensive stocks of rushes and the occurrence of the flour primrose and the spring gentian . The Mooswiese is directly connected to the Bussensee nature reserve via a ditch . In this ditch you will find the frog bite ( Hydrocharis morsus-ranae ), a floristic specialty that occurs here for the last time in the Lake Constance area.
