The Obere Güll area is a nature reserve designated by ordinance of July 1, 1998 (NSG number 3.248) in the area of the Baden-Württemberg city of Konstanz on Lake Constance in Germany .

location

The 45.4 hectares large nature reserve Upper Güll is one natural area to Hegau and Lake Basin . It is located in a small shallow water bay of the Überlinger See , directly southeast of the dam that connects the island of Mainau with the mainland and north of the Egg district at an altitude of 400 m above sea level. NN .

Protection purpose

The main protection purpose is the preservation of the shore landscape with near-natural vegetation zoning consisting of aquatic plant communities, reed beds and floodplain forest as a habitat for endangered animal and plant species, as well as the extensive shallow water zone in the bay as a nationwide important breeding, resting and wintering area for numerous water bird species, some of which are threatened with extinction.
