The Schanderied is a nature reserve and a landscape protection area of ​​the same name in the communities of Stockach and Bodman-Ludwigshafen in the district of Konstanz in Baden-Württemberg . The reed covers almost 46 hectares and was designated as a nature reserve in 1981.

Parts (grass runway) of the Stahringen- Wahlwies glider airfield and the Radolfzell-Stahringen special airfield are located in the area.

Protection purpose

The main protection purpose is the preservation of the Schanderied as a habitat for numerous plant and animal species, some of which are threatened with extinction, and as a natural reed landscape of special character and beauty. The nature reserve of the same name to the west essentially serves as a buffer zone for the nature reserve.
