Northern Mainauried is a nature reserve in the area of the district town of Konstanz in Baden-Württemberg .
location
The 11.7 hectare flat moor is directly adjacent to the northwest of the large parking lot, which is available to visitors to the island of Mainau and has been designated as a nature reserve since April 29, 1985. To the northeast, NSG No. 3.179 Bodenseeufer-Untere Güll borders the nature reserve only separated by a road, to the southwest the landscape protection area 3.35.003 Bodenseeufer . It is also part of the 14,341 hectare FFH area No. 8220341 Bodanrück and west of Lake Constance as well as the bird sanctuary (SPA area) No. 8220404 Überlinger See of Lake Constance . It is located in the natural area 030- Hegau within the natural spatial main unit 03- Southern Alpine Foreland ( pre- Alpine hills and moorland).
Protection purpose
The main protection purpose is the preservation of the richly structured wetland as a habitat for a multitude of rare and protected animal and plant species. So far, 20 rare and endangered plant species have been registered in northern Mainauried.
