Seestrasse 2 (Stralsund)
The house with the postal address Seestraße 2 is a listed building in the Hanseatic city of Stralsund on Seestraße .
The three-story house was built in 1902. With its angled floor plan, it follows the course of the former ferry bastion .
The facade is plastered on the ground floor, the upper floors are mostly made of brick . Due to the slight bend in the facade, the building is optically separated into a six-axis southern and a two-axis northern part. A two-storey bay window and a four-axis dwarf house characterize the southern part of the building. The northern part is also crowned by a dwelling.
During the bombing raid on Stralsund on October 6, 1944 , the southern part of the building was badly damaged; in the 1950s the part was renewed.
The house is located in the core area of the city area recognized by UNESCO as a world cultural heritage site of the “ historic old towns of Stralsund and Wismar ”. It is entered in the list of architectural monuments in Stralsund with the number 695.
The house is used as a residential and commercial building as well as a restaurant.
