The lake road is a city street in the city 's Old Town in Stralsund . It partially runs parallel to the Sund promenade and connects the streets Am Fischmarkt / Fährstraße with the Fährwall . In its course it partly follows the former ferry bastion . The Johannischorstraße goes off the Seestraße and leads to the Johanniskloster . The Seestrasse is part of the core area of the UNESCO World Heritage with the title Historic Old Towns Stralsund and Wismar .

The road was laid out in 1903. Previously there was an unpaved road here; the nature of the area at that time gave it the popular name "Wet Triangle". In 1900, the area near the Sund promenade on Strelasund was fortified and from 1902 onwards it was also built on. Therefore the Seestrasse was laid out in 1903; in the same year the first of the trees standing there were also planted.

Eleven of the buildings are under monument protection (see also list of monuments in Stralsund ), namely the houses Seestraße 1 , Seestraße 2 , Seestraße 3 , Seestraße 4 , Seestraße 5 , Seestraße 7 , Seestraße 8 , Seestraße 9 , Seestraße 10 , Seestraße 12 and Seestraße 14 .

The street is designated as a one-way street .

In 2002 the dugout canoes from Stralsund were found on a site on Seestrasse, in front of the Hansa-Gymnasium Hansestadt Stralsund .
