The house with the postal address Seestrasse 8 / Fährwall 16 is a listed building in the Hanseatic city of Stralsund on Seestrasse on the corner of Johannischorstrasse .

On the site on Seestrasse, between Johannischorstrasse and Fährwall, a copper and boiler forge was established in 1900 - one of the early industrial plants on Stralsund's old town island. The building erected on the corner of Johannischorstrasse is made of brick and housed the administration and production of the forge. The villa of the entrepreneur at the time is Seestrasse 9 .

The three-storey building with a flat stepped gable , designed as a front building facing Seestrasse, housed office and storage rooms and a porter's apartment. Along Johannischorstrasse, towards the Fährwall, there is a two-storey building with high segmental arched windows on the ground floor, which served as a forge on the ground floor and as a turning shop on the first floor . After a partial collapse, only the ground floor was temporarily preserved.

After renovation, the building was opened in 2013 as the “seaman's home”.

The house is located in the core area of the city area recognized by UNESCO as a world cultural heritage site of the “ historic old towns of Stralsund and Wismar ”. It is entered in the list of architectural monuments in Stralsund with the number 700.
