The SEGA magazine was a 1993 monthly to 2000 Computer Games magazine exclusively games for consoles of the company Sega dedicated. Besides Gamers , it was the only magazine with this orientation that was able to establish itself on the German market in the long term. The long-time editor-in-chief was Hans Ippisch .

history

The SEGA magazine was launched by Computec Media . The first issue appeared in September 1993. When Sega's market position in Germany weakened, the two competitors SEGA Pro and in 1996 also Gamers were discontinued, so that SEGA Magazin was now temporarily the only German-language SEGA magazine. It was only with the start of Dreamcast in 1999 that this monopoly position was lost. The magazine itself, however, was less and less profitable and from 1998 appeared only by subscription together with the magazine Mega Fun, also published by the publisher, and with a reduced number of issues. With issue 12/2000 the SEGA magazine was finally discontinued.
