Segundo Luis Moreno

Segundo Luis Moreno Andrade (born August 3, 1882 in Cotacachi , † November 18, 1972 in Quito ) was an Ecuadorian composer .

Life

Moreno studied at the Conservatorio Nacional in Quito and taught music theory there from 1909 to 1913. Until 1937 he worked as a military bandmaster and then became director of the state conservatory in Cuenca . From 1945 to 1952 he directed the Conservatory in Guayaquil .

He composed numerous works for wind orchestra, as well as two overtures , three orchestral suites, a symphonic prelude, an orchestral elegy and a cantata . He also wrote several works on the music and dances of the Incas .
