The side chapel is also called the side chapel house . It is located on the Moselhöhenweg between the Moselle wine town of Klotten and the district town of Cochem .

Building history

The church was built in the 19th century. Here, in 1859, a little Marien- Heiligenhäuschen was first built , which was owned by Johann Schunk II and his wife Maria Elisabeth born. Wagner was donated.

In 1881 the Sacred Heart Chapel was added as an extension. Although both form a unit, the individual structures have remained clearly and deliberately recognizable.

The entrance area dates back to the time it was built, and the flooring is original. The masonry longitudinal benches have since been removed. The Passion Pictures are by F. W. Bäsken and are therefore more recent. The original Vesper picture came from the 15th century, but was exchanged for a younger one.

A wrought iron grille separates the choir. Inside there is a Sacred Heart statue by Carl Welter.
