Moselhöhenweg
The Moselhöhenweg is a hiking trail on both sides of the Moselle .
The Moselhöhenweg was awarded in 1910 by the Association for Moselle, Hochwald and Hunsrück on both sides of the Moselle from Trier to Koblenz . In 1972, the Hunsrück Club , as it was called in the meantime, handed the Moselhöhenweg on the left into the care of the Eifel Club . The Moselhöhenweg celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2010. On the back of the Huns it runs from Koblenz to Perl . The marker is a white M on a green background. On the other side of the Moselle, it starts at the German-Luxembourg border in Wasserbillig and leads past Trier to Schweich and on to Koblenz (a total of around 185 km). The uniform marking symbol here is a white M on a black background. The Moselhöhenweg does not always run parallel to the course of the river. It cuts off some Moselle loops in order to follow beautiful viewpoints another time because of the windings. You can also combine the two hiking trails, change sides of the Moselle at interesting places (for this purpose, there are Moselle high-altitude connection trails) and also use local hiking trails. Well-known long-distance hiking trails that start on the Moselle are the Ausoniusstraße from Trier and the Celtic path , which starts at Treis-Karden or Senheim , and leads over the Hunsrück .
