Hunsrück Club

The Hunsrück Association e. V. (HRV) based in Bernkastel-Kues is a regional home, culture and hiking club in Rhineland-Palatinate . The association is entered in the register of associations of the Wittlich local court . He is a member of the Association of German Mountain and Hiking Clubs , to which 57 hiking clubs in Germany belong.

The Hunsrück Association maintains numerous hiking trails and hiking homes in the Hunsrück area . It was founded in 1890 as the "Association for the Moselle, Hochwald and Hunsrück". Its almost 40 local groups including 20 local hiking groups have around 3,000 members. The association is not only dedicated to hiking, it also conducts research on the cultural history of the Hunsrück. The association also partly looks after hiking trails that extend beyond the Hunsrück area, such as the European long-distance hiking trails E 3 and E 8 and the Rheinhöhenweg , Saar-Wanderweg and Saar-Mosel-Weg . Originally managed paths are the Ausoniusweg , the Keltenweg Nahe – Mosel from Kirn via Kirchberg to Treis-Karden and a further eight hiking trails over and around the Hunsrück.
