Svetlana "Seka" Aleksić ( Cyrillic  Светлана Сека Алексић ; born April 23, 1981 in Zvornik , Yugoslavia ) is a Bosnian - Serbian turbo folk singer who is particularly popular in the Western Balkans .

Early years

Seka Aleksić was born on April 23, 1981 in Zvornik, where she and her brother Nedžad grew up with their parents Ibrima and Milorad in a suburb of the city. When they got divorced, she stayed with her mother. During the Bosnian War they moved to the Serbian city of Banja Koviljača , where Seka graduated from secondary school, and later to the vicinity of Šabac .

Career

In 1996 she dropped out of the agricultural school in Šabac due to poor performance and began to occupy herself with the beginning of her career. At first she sang in cafes and over time she became better known. To further increase her popularity, she moved to Switzerland for two years, where she sang in discos and clubs, and then moved to Bijeljina . After initial difficulties due to her Serbian-Bosnian ancestry, she was able to start her career in 2002 with the album Idealno tvoja . Today it is popular not only in the Western Balkans, but also in many European countries with emigrants from the former Yugoslavia.

Since 2002 she has released a total of five albums and is therefore one of the biggest turbo folk stars. In 2005 she released the album Dođi i uzmi me ( Come and take me! ), Which became one of the most successful albums of 2005. Her biggest hits are Crno i zlatno , Balkan , Da sam muško , Dođi i uzmi me , Sviđa mi se tvoja devojka , Za ljubav mobilna , Kad čujem korak tvoj and Moje prvo neverstvo . At the end of 2007 Aleksić released her fourth album called Kraljica , which this time contains eleven songs instead of the usual ten tracks. There are currently music videos for four titles, Aspirin , Kraljica , Boli stara ljubav and Poslednji let . In mid-December 2009 their fifth album Slučajni partneri was released .

In addition to her musical career, Aleksić tries in other fields of activity. She first appeared as an actress in the comedy Mi nismo anđeli 3 ( We Are Not Angels 3 ). She also runs the fashion labels Rich Bitch and Queen .

In mid-April 2010 her own program Moja desna ruka ( My right hand ) started on the Serbian broadcaster FOX Televizija , in which she was looking for her new right hand, i.e. her new assistant, from over 450,000 applicants. The winner was the student Vukašin Ilić. In addition to FOX Televizija, the rights to broadcast the program were bought by the Croatian broadcaster Nova TV , the Bosnian broadcaster OBN Televizija , SiTel in Macedonia and TV 3 in Slovenia .

Private

She met her first husband at a music festival in Ćuprija . However, they got divorced after a short time. Soon after, she got together with her friend and manager Zoran Kovačević .

After five years of relationship, Aleksić and Kovačević confirmed the end of their relationship. Today she lives in Belgrade with her fiancé Veljko Piljikić. The couple married on September 12, 2010. Their first child Jakov was born on September 24, 2016.
