Nova TV is a private Croatian television broadcaster wholly owned by the United Group . The station is based in the Croatian capital Zagreb .
history
Nova TV started broadcasting on May 28, 2000 as the first private broadcaster in Croatia with a national license (there were regional private broadcasters such as Otvorena Televizija (OTV) in the Zagreb region before that ) and achieved, in particular through imported entertainment formats (reality shows, American Series) very quickly very high ratings. The main competitors on the Croatian television market are, in addition to the public broadcasters of HRT, above all the regional private broadcasters and, since 2004, RTL Televizija .

Nova TV is a full program broadcaster with a strong emphasis on entertainment formats. In addition to some self-produced series, the station mainly relies on Latin American telenovelas , series from the USA as well as imported show concepts ( American Idol - Hrvatski Idol ) and reality shows. Programs with high ratings include the daily news show Dnevnik Nove TV and the occasional live broadcast of sporting events.

Foreign series
Sister channel Doma TV
Since January 2, 2011 , the sister channel Doma TV has also been broadcast digitally. The program mostly consists of soap operas and other series and film content. Doma TV sees itself as an entertainment broadcaster and its programs are aimed specifically at women.
