Secondary wave
Secondary wave is used in the following contexts:
- In earthquake geology, see sky waves
- In physics, according to Huygens' principle, “the point is the starting point of an elementary wave, the secondary wave ”, see diffraction integral : derivation
- the wave system of a ship consists of bow jam, subsidence, primary and secondary wave
- Secondary waves are also identified in Snellius' law of refraction
- the Navier-Cauchy equations also know secondary waves, see wave equations there
- In meteorology, too, thermal waves are referred to as a wave system in which secondary waves occur, see Wolf Hirth : Biography
- In engine and gear manufacturing, secondary shafts are also used, see shaft (mechanics)
- In hydrology and hydraulic engineering , a distinction is made between primary and secondary waves in ship-induced waves.
