Selamlık

The Selamlık ( Ottoman سلاملك) was the part of the Turkish house inhabited by the men , which was also accessible to strangers.

In addition, it was used to describe the public reception of the dignitaries by the sultan as Selamlık, which used to take place on  festive days in the garden of the old seraglio . The official (public) part of a palace in the Ottoman Empire was also called that.
